Is it a Pipe Dream LeBron James Joining the Golden State Warriors or Could it be Reality?

LeBron James just keeps flirting with the Golden State Warriors, he first said he would love to play with Steph Curry and just recently on his show The Shop he reveals he would love to get into -matches with Draymmond Green as there is nothing that would amuse him more than to have someone to trade profanity with. We could take it as LeBron is just bored and enjoying life at the moment or we could look at these hints LeBron is throwing around as something we saw from him before he bolted for Miami to play with long-time friends Dwyane Wade. Me personally I believe it’s possible he joins the Warriors but I wouldn’t bet on it for the simple fact that the franchise would not belong to him. It seemed like he did not care about that as Wade was a lot like Curry, the homegrown superstar and LeBron haters till this day get on him about going over to Wade’s franchise.

In other words most LeBron critics eat him alive because the players he is often compared to such as Kobe,Jordan, and currently Curry have all been recognized for playing for one franchise through thick and thin. LeBron seems happy in Los Angeles but no one knows if he will sign an extension before August comes around and we don’t know what LeBron’s goals are for the 2022-2023 season, is it to become the all-time leading scorer and win a championhip or just catch Kareem lose in the Conference Finals and bolt elsewhere. As is LeBron will be 2 seasons removed from when he last hoisted the Larry O’ Trophy and it’s been close to 10 years since he last won a MVP award, maybe LeBron focuses on winning a 5th MVP and focuses on winning one more championship where ever he decides to go in 2023 free-agency.

It would be great for ratings despite LeBron and Curry being seen as foes but I believe LeBron wants to lose the leaving for greener pastures label he has garnered ever since leaving Cleveland for Miami almost a decade ago. The biggest mystery is how many more years will LeBron play, I’d say another 3 seasons and he likely signs a 2-year extension to retire with the Lakers but who knows he might want to retire a Cavalier and go out a champion the same way Jordan did 1998. Kobe Bryant’s exit from the NBA was memorable as he scored 60 points and anchored the Lakers to victory against a Jazz team who failed to make the playoffs that season. It sucked to not see Kobe competing for rings watching his body give out on him, it helped show us father time can not be beat and Kobe Bryant could no longer be the machine he showed he was for over 15 years. LeBron? We have seen he can put his foot on the gas and play some elite defense as he did in The Bubble 2020, this Laker team from this past season was just poorly built an he knew it.

To conclude yes I do believe LeBron joining the Warriors is a pipe-dream, not because they became his biggest nemesis exceeding the 08-13 Boston Celtics and him joining would be reminiscent to Kevin Durant but because his time in the NBA is winding down and he has nothing left to prove at this point. Joining the Warriors and winning 6 titles to catch Jordan won’t change the minds of Jordan fans, and yes it might make the GOAT argument 50-50 at that point but I think he is better off seeking to win one more league MVP trophy, becoming the all-time leading scorer, and winning one more last title which are all possible for him even at this stage of his career to make a more convincing argument as the GOAT. LeBron’s NBA career has been a movie and it’s only right for his final chapter to end in Los Angeles, till next time.
