Congratulations to the Milwaukee Bucks organization on winning their first NBA Title since 1971 when Oscar Robertson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar both carried the Milwaukee Bucks to their first championship but Giannis Antetokoumpo would not be winning his first title if Kyrie Irving had been healthy for the Brooklyn Nets. I understand injuries are a part of the game but we could all agree players the caliber of Kyrie Irving,Anthony Davis,and Kawhi Leonard missing eased Giannis’s path to his first title.
I would like to give my Finals prediction for next season and I do believe it will be the Milwaukee Bucks vs the Dallas Mavericks. I have the utmost respect for Kevin Durant and LeBron James and they might both win at least one more title before retiring but I just think Giannis is going to get even better going into next season which is scary but he got a taste of winning and performing in big moments. I see that carrying on going into next season and his greatness will be on full display next season as we will see a more well-rounded version of Giannis who’s shooting should be relied on going into next season which will only improve the Bucks’s offense next season.
As for the Dallas Mavericks I’ve always believed that Jason Kidd just had that natural gift to make others around him better, he lead the Nets to back to back NBA Finals and completely rejuvenated that franchise and played a vital role in the 2011 Dallas Mavericks winning the title. We also can’t forget how vital Kidd was for New York Knicks 2013 when they won 54 games under coach Mike Woodson in the Carmelo Anthony era. He was far from bad in Milwaukee coaching just didn’t posses the same of caliber of talent the Bucks had this past season and I see Kidd rubbing off on Doncic and getting him to bring down his high shot attempts and utilizing his passing a lot more. We know Luka can go off for 40-50 any given night but I think Kidd will unlock the duo of Doncic and Porzingis.
The Dallas offense has highly reliant on Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr to create their offense and go iso and I believe Jason Kidd is going to incorporate Kristaps Porzingis better into the offense than Ric Carlisle was able to. Assuming Porzingis remains in Dallas I believe he will prove owner Mark Cuban wrong and prove to be legitimate second option behind Luka Doncic next season. Luka Doncic really is the new Larry Bird, he makes everyone better on the court and should go down top 10 all-time when he retires. I’ll go Mavericks in 7 over the Bucks and Luka Doncic makes it argument for the best player in the league title.
To conclude I believe Luka Doncic is a prodigy. If any player in the league right now could someday take the GOAT crown from Michael Jordan it’s Luka Doncic in my opinion. I once thought LeBron James had a shot at catching Michael Jordan but Luka Doncic is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I’ve studied Michael Jordan’s game to a tea and would agree he is better than LeBron James and Kobe Bryant but Luka Doncic is the complete package he has no weakness in his game. The Brooklyn Nets will have chemistry issues and I’ve been watching LeBron James long enough he just doesn’t have it in him mentally to take down Luka Doncic in a series who won’t back down in clutch moments.
