If the Sixers want to win their first championship since 1982 they should sign Andre Iguodala.

Andre Iguodala is a 3 time NBA Champion and one of the most versatile defenders the NBA has ever seen. He came into

the NBA pretty raw but you saw the flashes of incredible athleticism and the ability to be an elite defender early on in Philly with his ridiculously long arms and wingspan.

The Warriors suffered defeat in the NBA Finals this past June but they were primed for a historic comeback had Klay Thompson not got hurt in the 3rd quarter, he was on pace for 40-45 points and leading the Warriors to a Game 7. Iguodala stepped and gave all the Warriors he can offensively but at this stage of his career you can’t rely on Andre to be a 3rd option.

At best he can be your 4th option but looking at the Sixers he could be their 4th or 5th option and give them that punch they lack off the bench. Don’t get me wrong I think Zhaire Smith can produce off the bench but he hasn’t played a full season yet and is a rookie, I like Korkmaz but he’s just not seasoned enough to rely on for scoring deep in the playoffs.

Not even Trey Burke who will be their best scorer off the bench has playoff experience so the Sixers would be wise to add a seasoned veteran like Andre Iguodala who has been in just about every situation possible in the NBA already. A closing lineup of Simmons-Iggy-Tobias-Horford-Embiid would suffocate any opposing offense. The size and the defensive versatility would be off the charts and everyone but Ben Simmons can shoot from the outside.

It’s rumored the Clippers will sign Andre Iguodala and boy if that happens it’s safe to say they will be the overwhelming favorites for the title. Year after year they say Andre is washed and he performs big in the playoffs. For a team like the Sixers who are favorites in the Eastern Conference acquiring Andre Iguodala would give them an edge over the Lakers,Clippers, and Rockets because Iguodala can guard LeBron,Kawhi,George,Westbrook, and Harden if given the defensive assignment and Simmons,Harris, and Embiid will have fresh legs to pick teams apart on offense. The Sixers would be smart to read my blog post if they want to be NBA Champions.
