How about an Isaiah Thomas for Avery Bradley swap?

The Cavaliers have turned out to be a nightmare for Isaiah Thomas and the Pistons have been slipping lately lacking a floor general who can lead them on the offensive end. Avery Bradley is being dangled in trade talks and seems

like the Pistons are not looking forward to paying him what he wants in free agency so why not make a trade with Cavs for Thomas?

The Cavaliers lack perimeter defense and Bradley would be sure to help them on that end of the floor, plus they have Jose Calderon,Derrick Rose, Lebron James, and even Dwyane Wade who they can go to at point guard. Isaiah Thomas failed to play the whole 4th quarter last night and was not delighted what so ever about it, he is not used to being in an offense predicated around Lebron James.

No knock on Lebron James but anyone who plays with the guy better be ready to sacrifice ball control, Isaiah Thomas is not used to playing off the ball while Lebron runs the offense. On the Pistons he can serve as a floor general and scorer which are two things they sorely lack specially with Reggie Jackson out till at least mid February. The Pistons can evaluate Isaiah Thomas and if he leads the Pistons to the playoffs and a possible second round matchup why not re-sign the guy?

Drummond,Harris,Bullock, and Tolliver are Detroit’s primary options on the offensive end unless you want to include Stanley Johnson who is still trying to find his way in Van Gundy’s rotation. All those players I just mentioned would flourish more if they had someone like Isaiah Thomas on the court who could set them up for shots and open up the floor for them to operate more freely. Isaiah Thomas even coming off his hip injury still looks very capable of running an offense and his combination of 3 point shooting and ability to attract double teams will help the Pistons offense be a lot more lethal.

No disrespect to Ish Smith who is a first class professional and just suits up and does his job, but not even Reggie Jackson brings what Isaiah Thomas brings to the basketball floor. Isaiah Thomas deserved to be somewhere he could play his game and not have to shoulder blame for team stuggles, specially coming off an injury. I believe both sides benefit, Avery is a free agent at the end of the year so it’s not like the Cavs would be tied down to paying him and if they feel he’s worth keeping around then they re-sign him if not he can get his money elsewhere.

To conclude I am a huge Isaiah Thomas fan and enjoyed watching him lead the Boston Celtics for his 3 years there, he is a true competitor and knows how to lead a team. It’s unfair the man’s leadership is being questioned after suffering his sister’s death and still suiting up for the playoffs and making it to the Eastern Conference Finals and having Danny Ainge trade him. It is a business though so I understand Danny not wanting to pay him max money especially not knowing how he would respond after his hip injury, Isaiah just doesn’t deserve to be treatment the Cleveland organization and all its fans are giving him at the moment. Give him the keys to the Pistons and I wouldn’t be shocked if he takes Detroit to the East Finals.
