Been watching this man since Duke and as far as skill-set goes in the NBA he is second to none. You can make a case for Durant as the best all-around scorer in the league but what can’t Kyrie Irving do offensively?
He lead a surge against the Rockets last night, the Celtics were down by 26 and Kyrie Irving turned it up a notch on both ends and finished with 26 points 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Playing
behind Lebron he never got his due but he’s ready to show us why he was drafted number 1.
The Boston Celtics stand at 29-10 at the top of the Eastern Conference and I think we should all agree Kyrie Irving can carry a franchise on his shoulders. Same way Kobe Bryant wanted to show the world he could carry a franchise without Shaquille O’Neal, Kyrie Irving wants to show the world he could win without Lebron James.
After watching Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals it was confirmed in my mind that Irving will be absolutely special.Lebron took home Finals MVP but if Kyrie Irving did not keep the Cavs in that game by attacking the Warriors constantly through the second and third quarters Lebron would have 2 rings right now simple as that.
Not taking anything away from Lebron James who is top 5 all-time when it is all said and done but Kyrie Irving was just as good as Lebron on the Cavaliers. He gets left out of the top 5 player conversation but we might have to make room for him going forward.
Danny Ainge wants to build a team good enough to compete for the next 9-10 years and you need elite talent to make a dynasty. Despite all-star Gordon Hayward being injured Jayson Tatum has been able to develop quicker and is showing us why Danny would have chosen him number 1 if he chose 1st this past draft.
Irving and Tatum are both wizards with the ball and are lightning quick pushing the ball up the floor. Under Brad Stevens who might rival legend Gregg Popovich years from now, Kyrie Irving has been able to become a better all-around player and be the elite play-maker he couldn’t be in Cleveland since everything was ran through Lebron.
To conclude I would not be shocked if Kyrie Irving and Brad Stevens find someway to defeat the Cavaliers and upset the Warriors in the 2018 NBA Finals with or without Gordon Hayward. Kyrie Irving has that Kobe Bryant mindset to the game and is not afraid of the moment, he proved that hitting a game winning 3 over Stephen Curry to win the 2016 NBA Finals. When it’s to win Kyrie Irving reminds me of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, 15 point deficit? No problem just give it to me.
