Avery Bradley is the definition of a player who plays to win. From his days in Boston where he was accompanied by a core of Isaiah Thomas,Jae Crowder, and Brad Stevens as his
coach Avery Bradley learned alot under Stevens and developing a winning tradition with the Boston Celtics. Fast forward and Avery Bradley is a Detroit Piston with one year left on his current contract which he is currently playing out this season with the Detroit Pistons.
The summer of 2018 Avery Bradley will be a free-agent and if Stan Van Gundy really wants to dig this Detroit team out of the grave he must re-sign Avery. Why? He is only 26 years old, can play on ball and off-ball defense, he can shoot from the perimeter, move without the ball and is easily a top 5 defender in the NBA. Few players can chase around Stephen Curry and actually have success slowing him down and make it hard for him to have a Steph Curry like performance.
What will he be worth? I really believe he is worth a 4-5 year deal in the neighborhood of 120-140 million dollars because he fits in perfectly at shooting guard who needs perimeter shooting and defense to get back to being an elite team on both ends. The Detroit Pistons have a fierce rebounder and rim protector in Andre Drummond who has improved his free-throw shooting and offensive game.
Tobias Harris is playing at an all-star level and thriving as a stretch 4 for the Pistons, Reggie Jackson is playing up to his contract so far and it’s all a matter of staying healthy for Reggie and he can do some special things for the Pistons in the playoffs. Avery Bradley is the ideal Piston, hard-nosed,disciplined,mentally tough, and a fierce competitor on both ends which is something Chauncey Billups,Richard Hamilton,Tayshaun Prince,Rasheed Wallace, and Ben Wallace brought 2004 when they eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers on their way to being NBA Champions.
